Maizy is just beautiful and just SOOOO sweet.  She is battling not just Lyme and RMSF, but also Ehrlichia.  She has been in treatment for four weeks and with us for two weeks.  She is house and crate trained now, and with the exception of wanting to counter surf, she does well in the house when we are home to supervise.  Still working on stopping the jumping up on people.  Better, but still needs improvement.

Maizy is just such a lovebug.  She will sit or stand by your chair forever if you are paying attention to her, especially patting her or scratching her ears.  She is one of the sweetest dogs I have known.  She is gentle and good with small children and is cat friendly.  Very curious.   She is more quiet than her brother Miles.

Outside, she is improving.  It is amazing how well these dogs respond to their antibiotics.  Maizy's concentration is much better, and she is now responding to birds in the yard.  She sights and responds to birdsong.  She is just starting to show signs of scent hunting, although mostly on the bunnies in and around our yard.  She hasn't started stalking or seting birds, but right now is happy to just chase them.  Much improved in just two weeks.

She still needs to work on healing with her leash.  Definitely wants to go in every direction at once and pulls some, especially in the beginning.  But the neighbor kids love her.

Well, we are fostering Beautiful English Setter girl Maizy, and her Littermate M.les. They are both beautiful copper and white setters. We are told they were owner surrenders to a shelter in Chicago area and are a little less than two years old. We have had them now for a week and they are a lot of fun.

Miles has solid copper ears and no eye patches. Maizy has one copper ear, on speckled and one eyepatch. As you can see in the photos. More to come soon.
